Instel and Axis Communications discuss the impact of NIS2 and ENS regulations on video surveillance systems

Last Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Instel, in collaboration with Axis Communications, held a new technology day in our showroom in Barcelona, to discuss the impact of the NIS2 and National Security Scheme (ENS) regulations on video surveillance systems.
The event brought together experts in cybersecurity and video security and analytics solutions to provide a comprehensive view on how these regulations affect organizations and what measures need to be taken to comply with them.

New regulatory requirements

During the first part of the event, Meritxell Pineda Teixidó, data protection, compliance and security governance consultant at Outlier Consulting, addressed the growing regulatory framework in cybersecurity and privacy globally, highlighting the most significant aspects of the current regulatory context and providing an overview of the main provisions and their scope.
Meritxell emphasized the importance for cybersecurity and privacy professionals to understand European regulation as a strategic opportunity for organizations. By adopting this approach, companies can reflect and improve their processes and practices in data management, transforming a challenge into a competitive advantage.

Solutions for regulatory compliance

In response to the demands of these regulations, Alberto Alonso Puig, Solutions Engineer at Axis Communications, outlined the technology solutions Axis provides to help organizations comply with current regulations.
Taking a 360-degree holistic view of its cybersecurity offering, Axis showcased a comprehensive list of policies, processes and tools aimed at mitigating risks, as well as advanced security features integrated into the products themselves to address cybersecurity issues.
