OAK House School necesitaba reforzar la seguridad en los accesos exteriores al recinto escolar. Con el objetivo de gestionar con la máxima seguridad la llegada y la salida de los alumnos al centro, se decidió implementar cámaras que garantizasen un control de todo el perímetro exterior y permitiesen visualizar de forma ágil y sencilla imágenes específicas en caso necesario.
Perfil del cliente Oak House School es un colegio privado situado en Sarriá, en la parte alta de Barcelona. El colegio es una fundación sin ánimo de lucro, regida por un patronato que está compuesto por siete padres del colegio, elegidos a través de la Asociación de Madres y Padres del colegio.

Dando respuesta a dichos requisitos, Instel diseñó una propuesta para la implementación de cámaras IP en los diferentes accesos exteriores al colegio.
Con el objetivo de ofrecer la máxima calidad en imagen y una amplitud de prestaciones, se implantó una arquitectura de cámaras de red del fabricante líder del sector, Axis Communications.

- 7 Cámaras IP Axis de exterior: Modelo AXIS P1455-LE y modelo AXIS P3245-LVE
- Software de gestión de video AXIS Camera Station

Cámaras de exterior de nueva generación:
Las cámaras de red Axis implantadas son particularmente adecuadas para capturar escenas con mucho movimiento, como sucede en los accesos al recinto escolar, garantizando un vídeo fluido con una reducción significativa del desenfoque debido al movimiento.
Las capacidades PTZ de las cámaras utilizan el movimiento horizontal/vertical y zoom para cubrir grandes perímetros y verificar eventos de seguridad detectados.
Las funcionalidades Forensic WDR, Lightfinder y OptimizedIR que incorporan las cámaras IP, han permitido obtener imágenes de alta calidad tanto de día como en condiciones de plena oscuridad.

FUNDACIÓ ESCOLES GARBÍ
Fundació Escoles Garbí owns the Garbí Pere Vergés educational center in Esplugues and the Garbí Pere Vergés center in Badalona. Both centers were founded by teacher Pere Vergés i Farrés and his son Robert Vergés i Cadenet in 1965 and 1968, respectively.
The Foundation's schools are Catalan centers of semi-private education, non-denominational.
The challenge
Fundació Escoles Garbí is the owner and operator of the Garbí Pere Vergés educational center in Esplugues and the Garbí Pere Vergés center in Badalona. Both educational centers had outdated network electronics, lacking manufacturer support, and with connections that did not exceed 100 megabits of capacity in most devices.
In an environment with high traffic loads and a large number of users, devices, and access points, it was essential to have evolved network electronics capable of ensuring availability and providing high performance through greater bandwidth.
Additionally, the Garbí Pere Vergés center in Badalona faced limitations in the performance of the wireless network in both indoor and outdoor campus areas. Therefore, it was decided to implement a smart, next-generation WiFi infrastructure.

The solution
Network Electronics
In response to the Foundation’s requirements, INSTEL supplied and implemented the new CORE and ACCESS network electronics for their centers in Esplugues and Badalona. To achieve this, all network electronics were upgraded to POE, and the bandwidth was improved from 100 megabits to 1 gigabit, optimizing the performance of the equipment.
The network topology was enhanced to a star topology, connecting the existing 7 racks at 1 gigabit to the main rack in Badalona, and in Esplugues, connecting the 8 racks to the main rack, doubling all fiber links between racks by utilizing the existing fiber.
The supplied and implemented elements included:
- Core Switches: HPE Aruba 6405 chassis. A modular Layer 3 switch offering high-performance switching and compatibility with IoT, mobile, and cloud applications was implemented.
- Access Switches: HPE Aruba 6100 and 6200 with 24 and 48 ports. Stackable, cloud-managed access switches with integrated analytics were deployed.
- Professional Services: Included replacing current equipment, installing and configuring new equipment, registering the equipment in the management tool, and conducting functionality tests and production deployment.
Red WLAN WI-FI 6
To provide the Garbí Pere Vergés center in Badalona with a high-performance wireless network infrastructure with integrated intelligence, Instel conducted a preliminary coverage study of the educational campus and supplied and implemented a new WLAN Wi-Fi 6 network from HPE-Aruba.
The supplied and implemented elements included:
- Indoor Access Points: Aruba AP-505. Based on Wi-Fi 6 standards, they provide easy access and secure authentication and encryption.
- Outdoor Access Points: Aruba AP-565 and AP-567. High-performance access points were implemented for outdoor mobile environments.
- Management Application: Aruba Central. A cloud-based centralized management console was configured for unified management of wireless networks, wired networks, VPN, and SD-WAN.
- Professional Services: Included conducting the preliminary coverage study, replacing current equipment, supplying, installing, and configuring the new equipment, and registering the equipment in the Aruba Central application. Functionality tests were performed, the system was put into production, and a subsequent coverage study was conducted to verify improvements and identify possible blind spots. Finally, training on the equipment and application operation was provided, and the final project documentation was delivered.
Cloud Telephony
Fundació Escoles Garbí had a cloud telephony platform from the manufacturer AVAYA at their central offices in Barcelona. This project, previously led by Instel, allowed the foundation to improve and simplify its communications.
To extend the full power of cloud telephony to its centers in Badalona and Esplugues, the network infrastructure upgrade was leveraged to increase the number of users and implement IP terminals powered by POE in both centers.
As a result, the different educational centers now operate with a centralized, secure, and comprehensive communication system without dedicated PBX hardware. This allows them to make user-to-user calls, monitor statuses, and benefit from powerful collaboration tools.
