AMERICAN SCHOOL OF BARCELONA

American School of Barcelona is a private mixed school, founded in 1962, which welcomes students from 3 to 18 years old. ASB offers preparation programs to access American, Spanish and other international universities.

The challenge

American School of Barcelona (ASB), has around 800 students every year and has more than 15,000 square meters of facilities that include basketball, volleyball courts, soccer field, gym, as well as various outdoor spaces.
The wide dimensions of the school center and the need to secure them, led ASB to install analogue video surveillance cameras which allowed to offer a safety bonus to students and personal teacher, as well as a reinforcement of the safety on the facilities.
However, the unstoppable progress in recent years of IP technology and its clear advantages over the analog systems led American School of Barcelona to begin a process of migrating its CCTV systems to a network camera solution, that allows optimize management and have an integrated intelligence layer.

The solution

American School of Barcelona, put in touch with Instel a telecommunications provider with which it usually works in wired infrastructure projects, multimedia solutions / projectors and microcomputer solutions.
With the aim of offering a high-quality IP video solution and extensive functionalities, was chosen Axis Communications, a leading company in IP cameras.

Instel carried out the migration of analogue cameras to IP, the installation and configuration of new native IP cameras, as well as the tests for the correct operation and its start-up.
The migration of cameras was carried out in several phases, with the aim of renewing cameras according to the needs of the center.

  • AXIS P1364-E and AXIS P1428-E IP cameras for outdoor and indoor areas + AXIS Camera Station Licenses
