OAK House School necesitaba reforzar la seguridad en los accesos exteriores al recinto escolar. Con el objetivo de gestionar con la máxima seguridad la llegada y la salida de los alumnos al centro, se decidió implementar cámaras que garantizasen un control de todo el perímetro exterior y permitiesen visualizar de forma ágil y sencilla imágenes específicas en caso necesario.
Perfil del cliente Oak House School es un colegio privado situado en Sarriá, en la parte alta de Barcelona. El colegio es una fundación sin ánimo de lucro, regida por un patronato que está compuesto por siete padres del colegio, elegidos a través de la Asociación de Madres y Padres del colegio.

Dando respuesta a dichos requisitos, Instel diseñó una propuesta para la implementación de cámaras IP en los diferentes accesos exteriores al colegio.
Con el objetivo de ofrecer la máxima calidad en imagen y una amplitud de prestaciones, se implantó una arquitectura de cámaras de red del fabricante líder del sector, Axis Communications.

- 7 Cámaras IP Axis de exterior: Modelo AXIS P1455-LE y modelo AXIS P3245-LVE
- Software de gestión de video AXIS Camera Station

Cámaras de exterior de nueva generación:
Las cámaras de red Axis implantadas son particularmente adecuadas para capturar escenas con mucho movimiento, como sucede en los accesos al recinto escolar, garantizando un vídeo fluido con una reducción significativa del desenfoque debido al movimiento.
Las capacidades PTZ de las cámaras utilizan el movimiento horizontal/vertical y zoom para cubrir grandes perímetros y verificar eventos de seguridad detectados.
Las funcionalidades Forensic WDR, Lightfinder y OptimizedIR que incorporan las cámaras IP, han permitido obtener imágenes de alta calidad tanto de día como en condiciones de plena oscuridad.

Located in the iconic El Born district, the Andante Princesa Hotel is part of the La Llave de Oro hotel group, a company with extensive experience in managing urban properties in Barcelona.
With the aim of repositioning the hotel and adapting it to the sector's evolving demands, the group undertook a comprehensive renovation of the building, upgrading both its physical spaces and the technological infrastructure that supports daily operations.
Throughout this process, technology has assumed a fundamental role in the establishment’s operations, enabling the design of a more integrated and cohesive infrastructure capable of supporting the hotel’s various services and its future growth.
The challenge
Modernization of the technological infrastructure at the Andante Princesa Hotel
Following the hotel’s acquisition, La Llave de Oro initiated a comprehensive transformation process aimed at updating the property’s value proposition and aligning it with the group’s quality standards.
The renovation provided an opportunity to completely rethink the building’s technology infrastructure. The existing network no longer met the needs of a modern hotel, necessitating the design of a new architecture capable of supporting all critical services while ensuring reliability, scalability, and ease of management.
The project also presented an integration challenge, requiring the unification of the hotel’s various technology systems—including communications, wireless connectivity, security, public address systems, and auxiliary operational services—under a single infrastructure.
Furthermore, the solution had to maintain technological consistency with the group’s other properties, facilitating uniform management and simplifying the infrastructure’s future administration and maintenance.

The solution
Deployment of an integrated technology infrastructure for hotel operations
INSTEL has developed a completely new technology infrastructure, designed to provide a robust, scalable platform ready to meet the establishment’s current and future needs.
Structured cabling infrastructure
The project involved deploying a Category 6A UTP structured cabling network to serve all areas of the hotel, complemented by a fiber-optic backbone interconnecting the building’s various floors.
The scope of work also included the installation of new conduits, communications racks, and all necessary passive components to create an organized, easily manageable infrastructure ready for future expansion.
High-performance network architecture
The new network hardware is based on HPE Aruba technology, utilizing a hierarchical Layer 3 switching architecture designed to deliver high performance and facilitate centralized infrastructure management.
The communications core is located in the ground-floor data center, with links extending to distribution racks installed on various floors of the building. This architecture has enabled an efficient network structure, optimizing traffic flow and providing a solid foundation for the hotel’s future growth.
As part of the cybersecurity strategy, the infrastructure has been complemented by the addition of a SonicWall firewall, responsible for protecting the network perimeter and strengthening communications security.
Built-in wireless connectivity
WiFi coverage has been upgraded using a solution based on Ubiquiti access points, selected according to the client’s requirements and integrated into the new infrastructure to provide seamless connectivity for both guests and staff.
Unification of systems on the new infrastructure
As the project’s technology integrator, INSTEL has handled the implementation of the systems supporting the hotel’s daily operations. The deployment included:
- CCTV video surveillance system
- Public address infrastructure
- Television distribution network
- IP telephony terminals
- Room access control systems
All these systems have been integrated onto the building’s new network infrastructure, ensuring their operation within a unified communications environment and facilitating operational management.
